Scanning tickets in Recras

Ensuring a seamless entry.

A seamless entry

For any festival or event, a smooth entry is essential. It is the first point of contact with your visitors and the difference between an enthusiastic start and a frustrated queue. To optimize this flow, you can easily scan tickets in the Recras till using either a hand scanner or a tablet/smartphone camera.

How does it work?

Setting up a handheld scanner is easier than you think. Most scanners work using the HID (Human Interface Device) principle. This is a technical term that simply means your computer or tablet recognizes the scanner as a keyboard. When you scan a QR code on a ticket, the scanner ‘types’ the code into the system for you.

Instant clarity at the POS

As soon as you scan a code in the Recras POS, you’ll see immediately if the visitor is allowed to enter:

  • Green bar: Successful scan! The booking status is automatically updated to ‘Started’.

  • Red bar: Something is wrong, and an error code will be displayed.

You don’t even have to look at the screen; an audio signal lets you know instantly if the visitor is good to go.

Bluetooth or USB?

You can choose between two options:

  • USB: The most stable option. Just plug in the cable and you can start scanning immediately.

  • Bluetooth: For maximum freedom of movement. You pair the scanner wirelessly via the settings of your laptop or tablet.

Using a camera (tablet/smartphone)

Prefer working with a camera on your smartphone or tablet? You can easily scan directly from your browser.

  1. Open the Recras POS.

  2. Click the ‘Scan QR’ button.

  3. Grant the browser permission to use your camera.

  4. Point the camera at the QR code; the rest happens automatically.

Summary: Your entry checklist

  • Hardware: Make sure the scanner is properly connected or the camera is working.

  • POS: Open the POS environment in Recras.

  • Scanning: Start the flow and listen for the success and error sounds.

It’s that simple!
