Google Analytics integration for Book Processes
The integration between Recras and Google Analytics provides valuable insights into customer behavior during the booking process. You can see exactly where users drop off or complete a booking, and identify which parts of your website perform well. This helps you optimize your booking process and achieve higher conversion rates.
How does it work?
When you integrate Recras’ booking process into your website, you can link it to Google Analytics. Once the booking process is active on a page where the Google Analytics code is installed, key data is automatically sent to your Analytics account. If you use Google Tag Manager, the integration can also be set up through that platform.
Insight into the Booking Process
Recras automatically sends the following events to Google Analytics:
- Select Content: When a customer opens a new step in the booking process, this action is recorded.
- Begin Checkout: When the customer navigates to the payment page, this is logged.
- Purchase Event: When a booking is successfully completed, this event is triggered, including details of purchased products and their value.
Tracking the Thank-You Page
To effectively track completed bookings, it’s essential that the thank-you page is set up correctly:
- If you’re using the Recras WordPress plugin, the necessary code is automatically added.
- Not using WordPress? You can manually add a small piece of code to your thank-you page. This code can be found in Recras under Integration with Website on the edit page of a booking process.
What can you do with the data?
The data collected via Google Analytics provides insights into:
- Where in the booking process customers drop off.
- How many customers complete a booking.
- Which activities are most popular and which products sell well.
Additional information
While this integration offers valuable insights, it’s important to note that not all data may be captured. This can happen because:
- Not all customers accept cookies.
- Some customers close their browser immediately after payment.
- Payments made through methods like bank transfer are not instantly marked as complete.
