‘Working with Recras is so easy’
“The farm had been used as a dairy farm for generations until about 20 years ago when part of the land was opened up for farm golf. Over the years, this location grew into an event venue,” explains Chantal van Uden. As office manager, she is not only responsible for processing the reservations and bookings at event venue, farm, and inn ‘t Dommeltje in Boxtel, but she’s also happy to roll up her sleeves on the work floor whenever her help is needed in the hospitality area.
It just happened that way
“It was never really the intention to turn it into an event venue, but that’s just how it happened. We still have dairy cows—around 75—but the focus is now primarily on organizing events. Downstairs, we have four large rooms, each with its own conservatory, used for weddings, funerals with coffee receptions, bachelor parties, school trips, and large corporate events. Upstairs, we also have four meeting rooms. A lot is possible here. ‘We like to think outside the box to meet our customers’ needs,’ Chantal summarizes.
Recras: a great system
When Chantal joined ‘t Dommeltje a year and a half ago, they were already using Recras. “It’s a great system,” she says enthusiastically. “We log all reservations into it, and my colleague schedules the staff accordingly. Each day, we get a clear overview of which guests are expected and which staff members will be present. ‘Invoices are generated automatically, it provides easy monthly booking overviews, and all costs are clearly displayed. I believe it also handles the complete personnel administration,’ Chantal lists.
Incoming mail
A recently added feature is incoming mail. Chantal says, “It’s a huge improvement—very effective and not prone to errors at all. That wasn’t the case before. We used to manually copy and paste all the information from our mailbox and link it to an existing or new file. Mistakes happened easily. Now, I can attach a note to any account or group. For example, I can set a reminder to call a customer on Monday, and I’ll get a notification that day. I can also assign a follow-up action to a colleague. It’s ideal!”
One click of a button
“It hardly took any time to implement the new functionality. The people at Recras had already set everything up for us. With just one click, it was ready to go. And we could just as easily turn it off again. ‘But, of course, we’re not going to do that,’ Chantal laughs.
Very important
“Recras is a fantastic reservation system,” the office manager concludes. “I’m very enthusiastic about it. I’m not really into computers, but I picked it up right away. And if something ever comes up, the farmer contacts Recras, and they resolve it quickly. That’s very important, of course.”
