10 Questions for the Start of the Season
Before the season kicks off, it’s helpful to take a moment to reflect on your business operations. What went well last year? And where is there room for improvement? For your business, your team, or yourself? Ask yourself these 10 questions and start the new season well-prepared.
1. Can visitors book easily?
Go through the booking process yourself. Is it fast, clear, and mobile-friendly? Are all the steps logical and easy to follow?
2. Has the entire customer journey been checked?
Review your customer journey: from confirmation to reminder, from directions to evaluation. Is all the information still correct? And is the experience positive?
3. Is the information on the website still up to date?
Check the opening hours, prices, packages, and contact details. Don’t forget to review your terms and conditions as well.
4. What questions did you receive most often last year?
Do you recognize recurring questions from visitors? You can address these now with clear information, better emails, or an updated FAQ.
5. Does the staff know what is expected of them?
With new colleagues or changes in the team, task distribution can become unclear. Make it clear again and check if the work instructions are still accurate.
6. Are internal documents and manuals up to date?
From cleaning lists to daily start checklists: make sure everything is current and easily accessible for your team.
7. How will you maintain control during busy weeks?
Think ahead about what you’ll do if it gets extremely busy or if someone is unavailable. Do you have backups or established routines to rely on?
8. Are emergency numbers and procedures known to everyone?
Safety should never be overlooked. Does everyone know what to do in case of an incident? Is the evacuation plan up to date, is the first aid kit ready, and is it clear who the first aider is?
9. What will make this season successful?
Set a goal or focus with your team. It could be revenue, but also job satisfaction, customer appreciation, or improving processes.
10. How will you ensure you have energy left for yourself?
It’s not just about a full schedule. Think about how you can conserve your own energy: by planning well, delegating tasks, and scheduling moments of rest.
By taking the time for this checklist now, you can prevent surprises during the busy period. It gives you peace of mind and an overview for the new season. Wishing you success and enjoyment in the upcoming season!
